If you want to take on branding, you must know this.
If you want to take on branding, you might as well be serious about it.
You might be saying “I don’t have enough time?”
This isn’t for me.
My question is “When did it become a thing for big brands only?”
Honestly, I don’t know what goes through some people’s minds about what branding is, and a lot seems to be going on. I understand that they might not have understood the concept. That is the purpose of this story.
But the thing is, branding is sometimes expensive. It takes time and it isn’t for big brands only. But if you want to make people feel something, you need to build a brand.
I mean you might not be concerned with making an impact but I’m talking to the majority that want to genuinely help people and make an impact while doing that.
In branding, it’s not so much about features and benefits as the internet has glorified. It’s feelings and emotions. As Maya Angelou said.
people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
The ultimate goal of branding is a space in memory. Preferably not a bad memory. I understand that you want to be at the top of your audiences’ mind, but let’s be real; people are going to forget that you exist, and you need to learn to be okay with it.
The constant pushing out content everyday is not the key to being valuable. If anything, for me it made my content common. You see, generic content is content people have seen the same over and over again with little difference.
What happens when you post content daily is, you don’t have enough time to think about it. To debate with yourself about it. It ends up being generic and that's painful. It’s not so much of pushing out content daily, it’s more of understanding what to put out, and when.
I’ve heard all sorts of things about branding. Here’s one.
I’ve never really understood the fuss about branding. We’ve been doing fine without it so far, and I don’t see the need to allocate resources to something that doesn’t directly impact our sales.
And hey, I get where they’re coming from.
I mean, it’s easy to think that way.
Why bother with fancy logos and colors when I could just do cold DMs?
But here’s the thing.
Branding isn’t just about looking pretty.
It’s about building trust, creating connections, and standing out.
When you speak to your audience, virality is rarely the case.
It’s like building a bridge. Only your clients get on it to get to you. Guess what? That’s very specific people, meaning they will be few.
And that leads to higher sales and long-term success.

It’s not just about what you’re selling;

But when you see the impact, it has on your sales and your bottom line in the long run, you’ll be glad you leaped.
